Ok so me and DarkoneKosuke Breainstormed an idea. First, I made burst control, an older deck idea of mine that fought the meta like a pro. Then Kosuke tried it out, and it didn't work for him...so he made creature based burst control, with a total of 33 monsters, few spell and traps, and it made it to top 4 at our old locals. Suffice to say, we liked our control builds.
Then one day at my house, he came up with an idea... tribute control, but...not monarchs?! I dissasembled the deck upon moving, but then I re-evaluated his idea, and came up with my own version, fully functional, flavorful, and fun as hell! The deck wants 3 Caius, but till then I'm using different 'narchs to get the same effect. This will be a long article, so without further ado... TO THE DECK LIST!

So at first glance, we see an issue "You're running a ton of 1's of monsters!" Yes, yes I am. That should be very inconsistant, right? Wrong. Take a look at every monster...they all do one thing! Control the field in various ways. The deck needs 2 more caius and another razia, but I don't have access to those right now so I'm using the 1's of for flavor.
Let's break down the deck... or backrow is very suseptible to removal, as always. So why not trick the opponent once or twice? The obvious choice for that is starlight road, to stop heavy storm or coutner torrential plays. However, we have another trap that, in game 1, they will not expect...Wild Tornado.
This nifty card can kill a face up spell or trap card (Skill drain anyone?) or free up a call of the haunted that's dead to make room for treeborn frog, or force a sangan play, etc. It's secondary effect is where it shines though... should the opponent attempt to destroy it (or should I for that matter) I have the option to kill any 1 face up monster. Since this effect is activated in grave, jinzo cant negate it, royal decree can't either, and it can bypass any timing misses during the damage step. The thing will go off NO MATTER WHAT. Which is handy.
The spells and traps aside from that are obvious...staples like call, MST, so forth, My body to protect creatures, PoA to refuel options, Soul exchange to net free summons, brain control does it too, Trap holes and bottomlesses to stop GBs and blackwings from having their say on the field.
The decks main source of power is the monsters though..monarchs do what they do, control the field. Dark Dust gives you a repeating lightning vortex when combod with level eaters and treeborn frog, Ha Des stops rykos and alows Caius to do the same. The unique cards though are the 'boss' monsters of the deck. Obelisk, Plasma, and..Dasher? Yes, Dasher.
Destiny Hero Dasher can free, yes, FREE summon any monster when you draw it... free obelisk for game anyone? Also, he can sacrifice a fodder monster (Frog, sangan, used up armageddon knight...monster you brain controlled or soul exchanged) to reach a colossol 3100... trumping most colossal fighters, most synchros save for Gottums, yet they both are now 3100 monsters. BOOM Sabers, suck it!
Anywho, next boss monster is Plasma. He's a skill drain to your ryko, and judgement dragon, and arcanite magician...your whole synchro cat deck, all your blackwings, etc. Oh, and he doesn't affect you. Neat. He also is a special summon, meaning you can special Frog, Normal any given Monarch or summat, make Level Eaters, and special this guy. He also is relinqueshed... taking monsters and cutting their atk in half to feed his own attack points. So 1900 becomes anywhere between 2800(Hello Goyo) to 3500(Well, you're screwed) All with skill drain intact. Slap a my body down and you're good to go.
Last and deffinately not least is Obelisk. Summoned just as easily as Plasma, but a bit slower... yet more devastating. You cannot trap hole this guy...you can use soul exchange to activate his destruction effect (or to summom him, hahaha!) He can run into Dimensional prisons and rykos with ease, punch Goyo and Gottums in the face and think nothing of it. Opponents got a full field of infernities? Well they wasted their barriers already more'n likely...so OBOLISK OBLIDERATE their field. should they Starlight Road him that's fine...we have more options to summon, and Pot of Avarice is just around the corner.
Let's get on to some plays.
Tomato to defend, killed to make arma-knight, who kills level eater. Double thinning and easy food for a big monster.
Do the same play but take out one level eater and make one destiny hero malicious for easy fodder just as well, and triple deck thinning.
Dark dust spirit summon. drop him to 4 stars with level eaters after you wipe field. Cool! Go to their turn, they kill an eater... your turn you do it again, and summon level eating fodder right back.
Dasher in grave, draw malicious (Boo hoo..) summon him free, sac for a biggun, summon another from deck in defense for kicks.
Dashers out, summon sangan (or use brain control) and instant advantage in the most awesome of ways.
Obelisk is out, you have treeborn frog but dont want to waste a summon and lose advantage...soul exchange or brain control. Problem solved. BOOM.
Normal summon jinzo, set my body. Protect jinzo from smashing or summat, then on your turn summon out treeborn, and 2 level eaters, make a plasma, take their monster, and rape their lifpoints. They cant use traps or effects, GG much? (You still can normal summon btw)
Opponent heavys your call...and no sangan in grave ( =( ) BUT WAIT! Call jinzo. Gained advantage and a beater who negated his own destruction, nice!
Summon arma-knight, kill level eater, summon quickdraw...use said level eater to cut quickdraw down a level. Make junk destroyer, kill a backrow card, rape front row.
The list goes on and on...
All in all, Try the deck for yourselves on KCVDS, it takes a bit of getting used to, but it's fun once you set up. Watch the little kiddies cry online when you spam your control cards every turn!
Finishing off...sorry for the long-ish post, but I figured deck announcements get explained easier when you, you know, explain them.
Happy Dueling!
