| Attention all duelists!
Just like Zane was the big man on campus at Duel Academy, we're giving you the chance to become Dark Magician Academy's top rank duelist. In order to achieve this goal, we've decided to use a ranking list, based on a point system, of which the rules will be explained below.
Now how can you earn points? By dueling other members of course.
The Ranking System Basically the goal is to duel your way to the top by earning points:
a) Through Duels From now on you can challenge other members to 2 kinds of duels: a Ranking/Official Duel or a Free Duel.
You can challenge someone simply by posting a thread in the "Dueling Arena" and only Dorm Members can challenge/be challenged/ranked. Keep in mind that every Ranking Duel must be verified by an admin who will then pass the result to me. In other words, all duels must be recorded (unless you really don't have the means) and sent to me/uploaded on youtube.
During a Ranking Duel, you put your place at stake. You can earn points by beating your opponent or you can loose points by loosing to them. Now, how many points do you earn/lose? Well that depends on your opponent's place in the list. The better your opponent, the more you can gain when you win and the less you can lose and the weaker your opponent, the less you gain when you win and the more you can lose.
For the point system, we have chosen to apply the Elo system used in chess. This means that every player starts with 1500 elo. The amount you gain/lose will be determined by a calculator.
As regards a Free Duel, no points can be earned or lost.
b) Through Tournaments
During a tournament, the host gets to decide who wins points, how they are won and how many can be won.
